This section includes films shortlisted for the official selection for their quality but not meeting the strict criteria of FESPACO. These are films that retrace the moods and developments in contemporary African cinema in tune with their time. Aesthetically, formally and politically, they are strong films that have something to say to the large audience, curious and ready for interaction. Ten (10) films, including five (5) documentaries and five (5) fictionals will be competing under this section.
